Cuentos españoles relacionados con la Guerra de Independencia. Introducción por Eduardo Mendez.
“Historietas Nacionales” (Short National Stories) is a collection of short novels written by Pedro Antonio de Alarcon (Guadix 1833 – Madrid 1891) and published in 19881. These stories cover the XIX century of Spain from the Independence War, which started the end of Napoleon empire, to the Carlistas civil wars, the political changes and how the people lived through them. Although the more entertaining pieces are at the first half of the book, you will find a great picture of the tumultuous XIX century in Spain.
Other books of the same author at LibriVox are “El Sombrero de Tres Picos” and “El Capitan Veneno”. (Summary by Eduardo Mendez)
