“Another good one from Beevor. You’d think there would be nothing left to say about the Normandy campaign, but the author finds some new nuggets to pass along. In true Beevor style he flips effortlessly from discussions of grand strategy amongst the high command to stories and anecdotes from men at the front and civilians. Appropriately harsh on Montgomery, and good coverage of some of the French politicking and command structure difficulties.”
